Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method was developed by Moshe Feldenkrais (physicist, engineer, educator and judo black-belt) from the 1950s on and uses the innate ability of human beings to improve their movement, flexibility, well-being, and mental and emotional states by means of deep sensory awareness coupled with movement experiments.

The method works with the innate ability of our nervous system to learn through practical experimentation and to support the underlying needs for each individual’s further development. It is also a beautiful way of coming into contact with how we are in the present, for to come into contact with the body we must be present.

Mark Keogh

Mark is a fully qualified Feldenkrais Method practitioner following 4 years of training in Basel, Switzerland. Mark began working with the method 10 years ago and went on to complete his training in 2003. Since then he has been teaching group classes and workshops (called “AWARENESS THROUGH MOVEMENT”) and one-to-one sessions (called “FUNCTIONAL INTEGRATION”) in Switzerland and Ireland. He is now based in Dublin.

Mark’s interest in the Feldenkrais Method developed out of his interest in movement and meditation as well as a wish to eliminate chronic pain and find out how much of our selves is re-programmable. The method opens up enjoyable ways to go into all of these questions without becoming merely intellectual exercises.

Marks has a background in teaching, literature, meditation and philosophy and is currently beginning a new course of study which will bring together the work of Feldenkrais with meditation, the latest in neuro-science and Rosenbergs non-violent communication techniques.
