A mindful approach to working with conflict
With Mari Kennedy
Mondays - 7pm - 9pm - September 17th – October 15th
Mostly, we humans are not great with conflict. It’s deeply uncomfortable and threatening to our nervous system. Each of us have a habitual style of working with conflict. Some of us go into conflict all guns blazing, some of us shut down, and then there are those of us who will keep the peace at all costs.
In this course we will use mindfulness and self- compassion practice to work with conflict and the difficult emotions it brings up. You will get to know your own conflict style, understand how conflict is actually creative and grow your capacity to show up in healthy, resilient and skilfull ways around this challenging aspect of being human!
Join me for a five-week exploration and training of conflict in a fun, mindful and safe way.
Over the 5 weeks you will
· increase your understanding around conflict and how you respond to it
· receive a private personal assessment of your conflict style
· apply mindfulness to everyday situations
· find the wisdom and upside of difficult emotions like anger and fear
· practice and play with others who want to develop and grow
· take away tools and techniques for working with conflict in your daily life
The course will be 4 evenings together in Oscailt and one online class in week 4

Teacher, inquirer, wisdom seeker, change maker Mari has been exploring and experimenting with what it means to live a full and meaningful life, for the past 14 years. In her work she weaves ancient wisdom practices with contemporary developmental psychology, neuroscience, Integral spirituality and mindfulness.
Over 10 years ago she stepped off the corporate ladder to pick up her passion – personal and societal change, adult development and potential. She founded an organisational development and coaching business. In that transition she became a yoga teacher, coach, mindfulness teacher an Integral facilitator. The journey was sometimes messy and circuitous, often unclear but always worth it!
In her 12 year coaching practice she has coached CEOs, managing partners, leadership teams, leading Irish creatives and artists and in particular, women who want to live a more empowered life.
Her daily practice and self-study are the foundation of her work along with the ongoing guidance of her teachers past and present. They include Diane Musho Hamilton ( facilitation, mindfulness, Zen), Dolores Whelan (Celtic Wisdom), Joan Davis (embodiment/ somatics) Rosella Baroncini ( Scaravelli yoga), Sianna Sherman( Anusara yoga ), Abbi Galvin (Katonah yoga) Mary O’Callaghan ( Mindfulness & Self Compassion), Rob McNamara (Developmental psychology & coaching) Chloe Goodchild ( Naked voice)
